We help our trustee clients to ensure they have the skills, knowledge and support to carry out their role and provide advice on all aspects of trustee governance arrangements.

This covers people, structure and processes and includes making sure that all the Trustee's statutory and constitutional requirements are met.

People

Our team works with trustees to ensure they have the knowledge and understanding of their pension scheme required by law, for them to carry out their role.

Trustees complete a self-assessment questionnaire to enable us to prepare a tailored training package which is delivered in-house by a range of industry experts. We are proud that most of our training is approved by the Pensions Management Institute and can include tailor-made specialist sessions and a dedicated website.

We also advise individual trustees on matters such as their role and responsibilities, confidentiality and conflicts of interest.

Structure

We review and provide advice on the structure of the Trustee body and supporting Committees as well as implementing the arrangements. This work includes looking at Committee structure and membership plus delegation and the appointment of employer and member nominated trustees.

We also make sure that there is forward planning of agenda items.

Processes

We can manage every aspect of organising trustee meetings including: logistics, production of draft agendas, management of the collection, collation and distribution of meeting papers and maintenance and control of documentation. We can also provide a secretary for meetings, who can provide advice on the conduct of the meetings and prepare minutes which reflect the discussion.

We make sure that appropriate policies and procedures are in place including rule amendments, risk management, monitoring of employer covenant and drafting terms of reference.

We carry out regular trustee self-assessment and reviews of effectiveness plus performance monitoring of advisers as we strive for continuous improvement.
