History / Our background
rpmi has over 40 years’ experience in pensions administration.
Our experience was initially gained by administering British Rail’s pension schemes and we are proud of our railway heritage and are delighted to be still looking after railways pension schemes’ members and pensioners today.
1965
Following a decision to centralise a number of regional pension administration offices, we became the Corporate Pensions Department for the British Railways Board.
1993
The business was privatised as part of the overall British Rail privatisation project that took place during the 1990s. At this time, our company name changed to Pensions Management Ltd.
1999
Having helped all the newly privatised companies find out about and understand the railways pension schemes’ arrangements, we consolidated our position as a high quality pensions administration service provider to the rail industry and started to actively seek and acquire third party pensions administration work.
2007
To reflect our growth in the third party sector, and better position ourselves for future business growth, we changed our company name to rpmi Limited.
2009
We are now one of the UK’s leading pensions administrators, providing high quality services to a range of highly successful organisations.
